Are Serta memory foam toppers made in the USA? Unfortunately, only the Serta company knows for sure. The company did appear in a Made In America segment, where they stated that they had been in existence as a US company since before World War Two. They also claimed that nearly half their factories are still in the US, and gave a tour of a local factory making spring mattresses. Unfortunately, nothing was ever mentioned about where their memory foam comes from.
So despite their foreign sounding name, the Serta company is American, with very deep American roots. However, we do not know where Serta manufacture their memory foam topper, because they have been very careful not to say this on their website. When MNCs do this, they are often trying to hide some embarrassing information. So it is possible that some of their memory foam mattress toppers are made in some Third World factory with poorly paid workers. This is borne out by the occasional poor customer reviews of Serta foam pads. That said, listings of individual models do state that they are made in America, though we do not know how reliable this information is.
There is no reason to avoid locally produced Serta products. Their local factories still make high quality mattresses and bedding products. However, if you decide to buy a Serta memory foam bed topper, make sure you check the label. If it does not say “Made in America,” you might do better to avoid it.
